RoHS/WEEE Compliance

Companies selling electrical and electronic goods in the European Union must conform to the EU legislation for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), which includes:

  • The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE), which details financial and other responsibilities of EEE producers regarding the collection and recycling of waste from a broad range of EEE at their end of life.

  • The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), which bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed upon levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants. The objective of the RoHS Directive is to reduce the amount of restricted materials entering the waste stream.

HellermannTyton's commitment to the environment includes our ISO 14001 certification and compliance with the RoHS and WEEE directives. Please view specific products for RoHS information.

If you are unable to find RoHS information on a specific product on our website, we invite you to submit a spreadsheet of HellermannTyton part numbers to find out if they conform to the RoHS/WEEE directives. To do so, please email us at [email protected].
